This week is the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Week with the theme of ‘Dreaming with eyes open’. While many schools are celebrating this with a Dress-Up this week, we will hold off a little until next term, when we have our Book Fair in Week 2 – so you have a lot more time to organise a dress-up!

We have noted that some students are experiencing difficulty arriving at school on time. There are many benefits your child will gain from arriving on time to school and class as we encourage you to ensure that your child is at school before 8:40am if they are in Pre-Primary to Year 6.

Congratulations to the 16 students from Year 3, 4 and 6 who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last night. I was so pleased to see the way these children were able to turn back to God and reflected on the times they had not made such great choices and how, moving forward, they could change their lives. A big thank you to Mr O’Brien in his careful preparation of the students and along with Mrs Achmad in their assistance in organising the Sacrament. Also a big thank you to Father Mat for his work helping the students to receive this Sacrament.

Congratulations to all students who participated in our St Thomas More Swimming Carnival last Thursday. Well done to Mr McRae for organising a wonderful swimming event for our students. A big thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time to help. Thanks to our special guest Shane Gould for her words of wisdom and presentation of medals
