A big congratulations to all the students who joined in our Book Week celebrations last week, which finished with the much- anticipated parade on Friday. I am told the students looked fantastic in their costumes and the staff certainly showed plenty of creativity too!
This week, while Russell is away at the National Catholic Education Conference in Cairns, I’ve be working alongside Mr McRae to help keep everything running smoothly here at school. This is a wonderful opportunity for Russell to connect with Catholic leaders from across the country and bring back fresh ideas to share with our community!
Now that August has commenced, we are currently in the Noongar season of Djilba, which runs until September. Djilba is known as the season of conception and is a time of transition, as the cold, clear days of winter begin to give way to the first signs of warmth and new life.
Tomorrow, our school community will come together to celebrate the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first saint and a woman of great faith, courage and compassion.
