LEAP

Learning Enrichment Academic Program

L.E.A.P. caters for students in Years 3 to 6 who display aptitude in one or more learning areas. A General Aptitude Test (AGAT) is completed by all children in Years 3 to 6 at the beginning of each new year and the results from this testing as well as other formative assessment results and collaboration with classroom teachers are used to select the children for the program. Selected students remain in the program for one year.

L.E.A.P. sessions run once a week in two groups – a Year 3 and 4 class and a Year 5 and 6 class. A focus is placed on the skills of researching, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity and both critical and logical thinking. Flexibility is encouraged and the students will need to be organised to ensure tasks are completed within set timeframes.
