Only 2 more sleeps until our Spring Fair day! This Saturday from 10.00am-2:00pm. There will be lots of activities, food and fun to be had – so we hope to see every family coming along!

It was so wonderful to see the children dressed up as characters from their favourite books on Tuesday. I was super impressed with how many students (and teachers) got involved with this. With the theme of ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’, it was wonderful to see so many students think about the importance of reading books and the places reading a book can take you.

I would like to congratulate those students who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday. It was so special to witness these children receive Jesus for the very first time and take another step closer to being full members of the Catholic church. Congratulations to you all!

Last Friday, our Year 3 to 6 students took part in our Faction Cross Country carnival. This is a tough event for our students, with them running over a kilometre in each event.

Thanks to all the parents who came along to our Colour Run last Friday night. It was a great afternoon, with the sun shining and lots of children having fun! A huge thank you to the P&F for organising this event and setting it up.

The Year 5 class travelled up to the Catholic Youth Camp in Busselton for a 3 day camp to learn more about our local area, the environment and conservation, and to also develop leadership skills and some independence.

This term we are focusing on the value of RESPECT. The purpose of focusing on the value of respect is to build students’ understanding of how respect for others and for themselves is part of the foundation for healthy behaviours and healthy relationships.

The phrase when the cat’s away, the mice will play, people will do as they please. But Mr Wylie has nothing to worry about while he is on Long Service Leave spending time with his family for two weeks, as he will return to a school that has continued to be filled with laughter, love, and exceptional learning.

Last Saturday, Laurissa Knowles, our school Chaplain, attended the South West Compassionate Communities ‘Lets Build a Compassionate and Connected WA’ Forum in Bunbury, along with Miss Flic and Year Six student Sophie Lane.
