Thank you to all the parents and staff who came along to our ACM last night. It was great to see so many parents come and support our school and hear about all the wonderful things that have happened over the past year and what is planned for the future.

The Year Six students had a wonderful time learning about the history of Western Australia and dome of the features found on Rottnest Island on their recent camp.

Our Year Four students led us in a reverent service for Remembrance Day on Monday 11 November with their class teacher Mrs Chapman. Every year on Remembrance Day we remember all the men and women who have served our country, Australia, in the army, the navy and the air force.

On Monday, our Year Six students will be setting off for their week-long camp at Rottnest. During this camp, the students will be provided with many opportunities to develop their leadership skills, take part in new experiences and develop further their knowledge of Western Australia’s history. I will be accompanying Mr McDonald, along with our amazing parent volunteers, Mrs Helen Lee (who has kindly donated a bus to drive us up to Fremantle), Mrs Sharyn Bucat, Mrs Nathalie Maron and Mr Cliff Royle. I am sure we will all have a safe and wonderful time!

Hopefully, you have all blocked your diaries out for Saturday between 10:00am and 2:00pm? We look forward to seeing many of our families, parishioners and community members coming along to support our Spring Fair. The Fair committee and P&F have been working tirelessly to ensure our fair is successful in not only raising some money for our school but in promoting a sense of community within the Margaret River area, all the while showcasing our school.

A very warm welcome back to all our students and families for our last term of the year. As I visit each of the classrooms, I can already see the students engaging in their learning and getting ready for the end of the year. As always, this term will be an incredibly busy and industrious time of the year for staff, students, our P&F and School Board. There is lots of learning, exciting opportunities and fun to be had by our children.

As we near the end of what has been a very busy term, I have taken some time to reflect on all that we have achieved in what feels like such a short period of time. The learning that I have witnessed the students undertaking has been fantastic to see, with many of the 21st Century skills which are so important, being clearly embedded into the teaching programs.

Thank you to all those parents and family members who came along to our Learning Journey afternoon. It was wonderful to see so much engagement between the children and their parents, explaining the learning that has been taking place over the term.

We welcome Mrs Merridith Newman back into our Year 1 class after some Long Service Leave. Mrs Newman will teach the Year 1 class full time, after we farewelled Mrs Becker on Friday to prepare for the impending birth of her first child.
