I hope all families had a wonderful Long Weekend and were able to enjoy some time together as a family. On Tuesday, the staff gathered together to participate in some Wellness activities, which allowed time for meditation, self-reflection, connection with nature and taking time to come together as a staff. We believe providing time for staff to develop their own well-being assists them in becoming even better educators for your children.

On Tuesday evening, some of the Year 3 parents joined with their children to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation workshop. The children did a great job of responding to questions and completing the different activities. We join in praying that these group of students are able to turn back to God and reflect on the times they had not made such great choices and how, moving forward, they could change their lives. The Sacrament will be celebrated on Tuesday 21st March.

Yesterday, the school community gathered with parents and parishioners to celebrate the beginning of Lent with an Ash Wednesday Mass. The Year 6 students led us beautifully and it was wonderful to see the students participate so reverently and prayerfully.

Thank you to all the parents who came along to our Parent Information evening on Monday night. We hope this was an informative and worthwhile opportunity to find out about what will be happening over the course of the year in the classroom and allow the opportunity for questions to be answered. I encourage those parents who were unable to attend this night to make contact with your child’s teacher to find out any important information.

We invite all families to come along after our assembly tomorrow for our 2023 Parent Welcome Morning Tea. This is a great opportunity for new parents to make new friends, meet other parents in the school and come together as one community. We look forward to seeing lots of parents come along at 9:15am in the Library.

We have made it to the end of another year. It came with its challenges, but we managed to finish really well with lots to be thankful for. Thank you to all our amazing parents and community members who have provided such great support over this past year. You make my job easier and allow so many great things to happen for our students on an everyday basis. I think the kids have done an amazing job this year and I have seen lots of great learning taking place over the course of the year. Well done to everyone!

WOW! I was blown away from the talent shown at our Year 4-6 Music Concert on Monday evening. The students were amazing, showcasing their musical skills, performing on many different instruments and singing and entertaining the audience. It was a great display of just how special our Tommy More students really are. Well done to Mr Goodwin for his work with the students in preparing them for this concert and all the work he put in setting up and getting everything organised. A special thanks also to the Margaret River HEART for providing a grant to make this possible and to our amazing P&F for also contributing to the costs.

Yesterday morning, along with the Year 3, 4 and 6 classes, I listened to the Year 5 students present their Leadership speeches. I was extremely impressed with the time and effort these students put into sharing why they think they would make a great leader in our school next year and congratulate them on putting themselves forward for these roles. I know many of them felt nervous, but I was tremendously proud of the way they showed persistence and determination to still present this. I look forward to meeting with the Year 5 students individually and discussing why they feel they would be a good leader in our school next year. 2023 Leaders will be announced at our Year 6 Graduation and School Awards night on 8th December in the Church.

On Wednesday, our Year 3 and 4 classes competed in a Tennis Tournament at the Margaret River Tennis Club. Our students represented our school incredibly well and by all accounts showed excellent sportsmanship, were encouraging others and were gracious when they both won or were defeated. A huge congratulations to our winning team and runners-up! A great achievement.
