On Monday, our Year 6 students will be traveling over to Rottnest for their weeklong camp. This is a very exciting time in the lives of these young students, as they are away from their families for this extended period of time, but provided with many opportunities to develop leadership skills, resilience and take part in new experiences while developing their knowledge of Western Australia’s history.

It was so wonderful to see the children dressing up as their favourite book characters yesterday, to celebrate Book Week. I was super impressed with how many students (and teachers) got involved with this. With the theme of ‘Dreaming with eyes open’, it is a good reminder for us of the importance of reading and using our imagination.

Welcome back! I hope all families had a wonderfully relaxing and fun holidays, ready for the busyness that Term Four always brings! As I visit each of the classrooms, I have already been able to see the way the students are engaging in their learning and getting ready for the end of the year.

I would like to congratulate those students who received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Sunday. It was so special to witness these children receive Jesus for the very first time and take another step closer to being full members of the Catholic church. Congratulations to you all!

The Year 5 students spent the past three days on their school camp to Busselton. During this time, they were able to further develop their leadership skills, enjoy new experiences and discover more about one another. A huge thank you to Mrs Shoppee and Mrs Achmad for attending the camp and to Mr Jon Miller for driving the bus and helping on camp. There were some very tired children when they got off the bus yesterday!
